This was the only bathroom in the house for these clients, so they wanted it to be exciting, but also function for their everyday use. They were tight on space in the shower, and did not use the leaky tub that was there. They wanted to improve flow through the entrance off the master bath so we replaced the swing door with a pocket door. Building a pony wall in the shower gave added privacy to the toilet area, and allowed for space for grab bar installation. The floating shelf above the vanity is repeated with a floating bench in the shower, which was built to accommodate a drain that could not be moved. Making the most of the shower functionality, the client opted for a tiered floor-to-ceiling niche, and the custom Amish cabinetry and shiplap brings the farmhouse feel they were looking for.
