Our clients had recently purchased their home before undergoing this bathroom remodeling project in Arlington Heights. Unfortunately, the plumbing for their bath tub was installed incorrectly and they were experiencing a leak, which prompted their exploration of remodeling. They wanted to design and remodel the entire bathroom to their taste, as it was lacking style and functionality.
The existing space was compartmentalized making the bathroom feel small and dark. By taking down the wall in between the room, we were able to relocate the bathroom fixtures and let natural light in the entire space. The large jacuzzi tub was taking up a majority of the bathroom and that was prime real estate that was underutilized.

Fix the plumbing issues that initiated the remodel and redesign of their bathroom in the first place.
Design a bathroom that flows better and provides better use of space. Replace the drop in tub for a free standing and enlarge the shower for a more luxurious user experience.
Create an elegant and timeless bathroom. Add materials that would look cohesive and blend in nicely with the style of their Arlington Heights home.
This Arlington Heights home was newly purchased, but unfortunately had plumbing issues. Their kitchen is below their master bathroom and the ceiling in the kitchen was dripping water when the tub was being used. The drop in tub was old and outdated, and the shower felt dark and closed in.
The goal for this Arlington Heights bathroom remodel was to create a seamless space that felt comfortable and inviting. Our first step on the drawing board was to redesign the layout of the space. By removing the wall between the room, it opened the door for much more opportunity for the bathroom to flow and function better.
We relocated the shower to the opposite side of the bathroom and made it large enough to shower comfortably and we add a bench seat. We angled the corner for the shower door to improve the walkway in the bathroom. By taking out the large drop in tub this also improved the bathroom bathroom footprint.
We opted to install a free standing tub, but on the opposite wall from its original location. This allowed us to design a large double sink vanity with plenty of countertop space and storage. With all of the work being done to give this space better functionality, we did not want to skimp on the finishing touches and details.
Our clients wanted the new bathroom to feel luxurious and classy, but also have some modern touches. The white bathroom vanity creates a timeless look and the black shiplap adds so much texture and visual interest.
We wanted to keep the shower clean and also add a bit of texture with the ribbed gray ceramic tiles. The Rift Cut Oak linen storage cabinet that also has a ribbed glass door, created another element that helped elevate this bathroom. The satin brass finishes on the plumbing, hardware and fixtures added warmth to the space.
Here you can see the heated flooring installed, the shower prepped for tile and the tile floor starting to be installed. By utilizing a Schluter shower system, we were able to ensure a leak free shower, putting the clients mind at ease.
