BATHROOM REMODELING IN LONG GROVE, IL
Previously this bathroom remodeling project in Long Grove was a dated, shared bathroom with a linen closet, a soaking tub, and had separate vanity areas outside the bathroom. We reframed doorways and relocated the vanities to create a combined, more grand vanity, as well as expanded the shower area.
Eliminating the tub was not a problem for this homeowner as it was never used previously, and the storage we removed by taking away the linen closet was incorporated back into the design through the use of flanking tower cabinets on both ends.
The new bathroom not only functions better, but combining the chopped up layout created a much more streamlined look as well.

LONG GROVE BATHROOM REMODEL OBJECTIVES
MODERNIZE THIS LONG GROVE BATHROOM
We eliminated the linen closet and tub that divided the bathroom. We extended the entrance to the bathroom to accommodate the new vanity placement. We also reframed the other entry to ensure the door swing did not impact the walk-way in the bathroom.
CREATE A BOLD BATHROOM DESIGN
Going with a soapstone look on the countertops, and selecting inset white cabinetry elevates the bathrooms style. The traditional basketweave mosaic and dimensional subway also will stand the test of time. The lighting, accessories and hardware lead the eye around the room and demonstrate the quality this client was looking for.
IMPROVE THE FUNCTION
We wanted to provide much more storage. Not only did this vanity have multiple drawers, we also added oversized countertop tower cabinets to provide linen storage that was previously in the closet.
BEFORE THE BATHROOM REMODEL IN LONG GROVE
The layout of this bathroom was choppy and did not utilize the space efficiently. The tub was outdated and never used by the homeowners. They liked the Jack & Jill setup that connected both of their guest bedrooms, but the overall vanity and shower sizes they wanted to improve on. The finishes also left alot to be desired.
LONG GROVE BATHROOM REMODEL DESIGN CONCEPT
DURING THE BATHROOM REMODELING PROJECT IN LONG GROVE
When opening up the walls we realized the plan to expand the shower came with both good and bad news. The good news was that we realized we had more space we could expand into than originally planned for, but in order to do so, we would need to move a vent line. The adjustment was made and the footprint of the shower increased about a foot more than we planned for.
