BATHROOM REMODEL OVERVIEW
This Palatine bathroom remodel started off as a very enclosed space with a small shower and single vanity. By removing a linen closet and dividing wall, we were able to expand our shower and allow the light from the existing window to flow throughout. It also allowed for an expansive double vanity.
We selected materials that were light, bright and classic, but added some interest with a beautiful water jet marble in the shower and a contrasting stained vanity. Details such as polished fixtures and crystal lights add just enough shine and elegance. The end result is a perfect blend of materials that will surely withstand the test of time.

BATHROOM DESIGN OBJECTIVES
OPEN CONCEPT
By eliminating a dividing wall, we were able to open up the space to allow more light, but also enhance the overall function of this bathroom, allowing for a double vanity
PRIVACY
The original bathroom did not have a door, making it noisy and lacking privacy. We added a small double pocket door with frosted glass to keep the space open while still being functional
VISUAL APPEAL
The existing bathroom was dated and dark, so we brightened everything up with tile that was not only bright, but also beautiful, adding just enough color and personal touch
BEFORE THE BATHROOM REMODEL

BATHROOM DESIGN CONCEPT

We wanted to create a space that felt classic without being boring, and also functional. We fell in love with a calacatta and white thassos water jet mosaic from Mosaique Surface and made that our focus. We tiled a majority of the shower and vanity wall in a classic subway tile in white to keep the space bright, crisp and low maintenance. This also did not take away from the water jet that we chose to accent around the upper half of the shower walls.
Porcelain floor tile in a soft taupe color added just enough color and contrast, and pulled in the colors of the water jet. We went with a dark vanity contrasted by a white quartz countertop to give a pop of contrast and stand up against the white tiled backsplash. The overall space feels classic and bright.
DURING THE BATHROOM REMODEL

Here you can see the bathroom renovation at the midway point. The shower has been farmed out, rough plumbing is in place and the tile installation is under way.
