KITCHEN REMODELING IN GLENVIEW, IL
Our clients secured us to provide a kitchen remodeling project in Glenview, IL. The existing kitchen did not work for their large family who love to entertain. The large island and a wall between the kitchen and dining room really closed off the space and made it feel small.
Opening up some walls and doorways allowed for an oversized custom island; complete with a sink, dishwasher, built in trash, glass fronts, storage on all sides and room for four.
Closing up a window was necessary for the families new oversized built-in refrigerator and freezer, flanked with custom pantries for both form and function. Let’s not forget about the beautiful range wall and buffet areas which dress up the space and really complete the flow of this kitchen.

GLENVIEW KITCHEN REMODEL OBJECTIVES
OPEN CONCEPT KITCHEN
Removing a wall between the existing kitchen and dining room helped to create an open floor plan for entertaining
BETTER FLOW
We needed to change the existing work triangle, as the existing triangle created a lot of traffic jams and was not conducive for a large family that likes to cook
UPDATE THE KITCHEN STYLING
The old kitchen was a bit dark and dated, which is why we opted for white cabinets. A dark stained island and dark wood floors added contrast, while a white marble quartz paired with a soft taupe backsplash kept the overall space feeling fresh and classic.
BEFORE THE KITCHEN REMODELING PROJECT IN GLENVIEW
The existing Glenview kitchen is tight and compartmentalized with a fair amount of wasted space. Overall it is functional, but not conducive for this family who loves to host big gatherings. While there is plenty of light, the kitchen still feels rather dark, and certainly doesn’t represent our clients taste.
Black elements throughout added some pop, while a muted taupe backsplash set in a herringbone pattern added slight color and a subtle edgy vibe.
GLENVIEW KITCHEN REMODEL CONCEPT
The overall kitchen design concept was to create a classic space built on quality and function. We opted for our custom Amish cabinets in a bright white painted finish contrasted by dark flooring and a dark island. We combined straight lines with soft curves and traditional elements for a classic, transitional look.

DURING THE KITCHEN REMODEL IN GLENVIEW
By simply removing a couple of walls and doorways, we were able to completely open up this Glenview kitchen to the rest of the home. At this point, the walls have been opened and the kitchen is already starting to take shape.
We’ve reworked our can lighting to better illuminate our new layout and relocated our plumbing and gas lines. The side window was removed to allow for the built in refrigerator/freezer columns, and all interior drywall and exterior siding work has been completed.
Flooring, cabinets, countertops and backsplash have also been installed. We’re onto the final details that will really complete this beautiful remodel!
